About Hollywood & Literature

Hollywood & Literature is my passion project — something I build and add to whenever I can. Right now, I’m creating courses, lessons, and materials based on:

  • Books I love and want to share
  • Texts commonly taught in high school
  • Works I think are highly relevant but often censored or misread (like Animal Farm)

Over time, I’ll also be updating older resources and adding new ones so this becomes a rich archive for:

Who I Am

I’m Cara!

A mixed-race English and Film educator, writer, and mother of three. I’ve always been passionate about making the art and the language of cinema accessible to everyone, meeting students where they are, and finding entry points into both contemporary favorites and the classics.

Right now, I’m transitioning out of my "mom pause" and back into the classroom, but this website is a result of my constant pursuit of ways to teach, create, and connect.

What You’ll Find Here

From Baby Driver vs. Drive to Coraline as a coming-of-age study… from Citizen Kane and Rear Window to Parasite, The Babadook, Moonrise Kingdom, and The Farewell — I create lessons and discussions that blend deep analysis with accessible entry points.

You might find:

Some resources are free, others are available in the shop here or on my Ko-fi page. And in between, you’ll see blog posts and community updates on what I’m reading, watching, and thinking about.

If you’re a student looking for extra challenges, a teacher searching for new ways to engage your class, or just someone who loves books and movies, you’re welcome here. I hope you find something that sparks curiosity, deepens understanding, or inspires your own storytelling.
