About Hollywood & Literature
Hollywood & Literature is my passion project — something I build and add to whenever I can. Right now, I’m creating courses, lessons, and materials based on:
- Books I love and want to share
- Texts commonly taught in high school
- Works I think are highly relevant but often censored or misread (like Animal Farm)
Over time, I’ll also be updating older resources and adding new ones so this becomes a rich archive for:
- High school ELA and Film Studies students
- Dual enrollment students looking for enrichment
- Teachers and homeschooling parents who want fresh, thoughtful lesson materials
- Anyone curious about film studies, especially since so few young adults get the chance to study film in high school
Who I Am
I’m Cara!
A mixed-race English and Film educator, writer, and mother of three. I’ve always been passionate about making the art and the language of cinema accessible to everyone, meeting students where they are, and finding entry points into both contemporary favorites and the classics.
Right now, I’m transitioning out of my "mom pause" and back into the classroom, but this website is a result of my constant pursuit of ways to teach, create, and connect.
