Cara is a mixed-race English & Film educator, a writer of various sorts, a mother of three small humans, but ultimately a person with a passion for film and literature, the art of both - and in particular, storytelling.

My sweet spot as a film studies teacher was making the art and language of cinema accessible to all students - meeting them where they are. And I did this by teaching the films I loved, and finding us all entry points into "the classics" too. Right now I'm on a "mom pause" caring for our youngest, which has taken me out of the classroom and put me in a place where I'm searching for creative expression and connection.

Starting out, I'm trying to make available lessons, questions, and discussions in the shop (and it's slightly cheaper on my ko-fi shop) that I most enjoyed or found meaningful as a teacher, and in community I'll post about whatever I'm reading or watching.
