Join the Beta Test for My New Literary Analysis Course: Unlocking Literary Analysis with The House on Mango Street

A self-paced English course for 9th–10th grade students (and advanced 8th graders) who want to master paragraph writing, analyze literary devices, and feel more confident in English class—available FREE during the beta test period.
What This Course Teaches
Students will:
- Closely read selected vignettes from Sandra Cisneros’ The House on Mango Street
- Learn to identify and analyze figurative language (symbolism, metaphor, mood, and more)
- Practice writing structured analytical paragraphs using the “Quotation Sandwich” (Point-Evidence-Analysis) model
- Build confidence in ELA writing and interpretation

- 📚 9th–10th grade students, or advanced 8th graders
- 🧠 Students who are struggling to earn A’s in ELA writing assignments
- 🏠 Homeschool or independent learners
- 💬 Students who enjoy creative writing but need structure when writing about literature

Tech Requirements
You’ll need a Gmail account to access the course in Google Classroom.
I highly recommend having your own copy of The House on Mango Street, too. CUNY Manhattan seems to have the text hosted here. You can also purchase it on Bookshop.org, or find it at your local library.
